There are lots of Usenet Newsgroups here on Yahoo. You can look around and see if there is one that has the material you seek, including archives. The link to Yahoo’s Usenet Newsgroups is below.

check out comp.soft-sys.sas it’s a great site but it looks like you have to go through google to get to it. why not yahoo? Also, google seems like a much better group bulletin board. It let’s the user stay in control of his/her posts. so when you want to delete them you can!

I believe there is an Internet protocol that must be followed to handle Usenet – NNTP. I don’t think Yahoo follows this protocol.

I came to Yahoo Groups from Usenet because of one simple reason: Starting a new Usenet Group was WAY too political. At Yahoo I could just click a few buttons and bingo.

At the time Google did not offer Groups...

Unless your ISP provides a Usenet feed, you have to subscribe to a separate service. Adelphia at one time provided Usenet access in their cable modem service. Try entering in Google something like this: Usenet+provider

How to delete posts from Google groups?

Question by rainflake: How to delete posts from Google groups?
I’ve posted on a Google Usenet group, and want to remove some posts for security reasons. However when I click ‘remove’ it says ‘you are not allowed to remove this message” even though I posted it with the same address and usename.

Question by Buckley Valeo: Is “Google Groups” the only game in town to search Historical Contents of usenet?
Anybody remember altavista? That’s what I want. Google Groups used to be able to search historical usenet postings, but now the results are cluttered up with posts from non-usenet groups hosted exclusively by Google. I’m not interested in finding lists of usenet groups, I know they exist. I’m interested in finding an alternative way to search usenet historical posts by keyword.
No answers might suggest that it’s impossible to search the historical contents of usenet without the help of Google’s newly crippled service. If this is true, I’m am saddened.
Although searching for binaries might be the goal of some, it’s not the point of my question...

Q&A: Why subscribe to Usenet when I could just do a search on google?

Question by theeshusher: Why subscribe to Usenet when I could just do a search on google?
Isn’t it the same thing? I hear that the biggest forum of all is still “Usenet.” That’s the same as “newsgroups” which can all be searched on goggle using the “news” option, right? Do many people still use it? Perhaps I’m missing out on half the internet. The “web” is only part of it.

Hi there,

The main reason to use Usenet is to download files–the latest movies, games, CD’s etc. You can get a full DVD (4.5 gigabytes) in a couple of hours on the right connection using usenet. The only problem is you have to pay!
